The LAL reagent test is the most sensitive and specific method for detecting and measuring bacterial endotoxins. However, unknown interfering factors may inhibit or enhance the reaction of LAL, leading to test failures and making it difficult to quantify endotoxins in products.
Charles River provides solutions for testing interference issues. The LAL reaction is an enzyme-mediated process which requires a neutral pH environment and a proper balance of monovalent and divalent cations.
